Applications
  • Valve bead – sealing bead: Ideal for ink cartridges and dispensers in the food and cosmetics industries; also frequently used in dosing pumps and ball check valves.
  • Ball bearings: Glass beads are used in ball bearings where corrosion and chemical resistance are required.
  • Agitation bead – mixing bead: In the pharmaceutical industry, borosilicate glass beads in insulin cartridges ensure that the contents are mixed evenly when shaken.
  • Special applications: In optics and medical technology, among other areas
Quality characteristics
  • Precision: Diameters ranging from 0.7 to 50 mm, tolerances for individual balls (dK ≤ 20 µm) and lots (dL ≤ 20 µm).
  • Dimensional stability and roundness: Very high precision with dMAX – dMIN ≤ 20 µm.
  • Surface quality: Homogeneous surfaces with defined roughness (matt, silk matt and highly polished), Ra ≤ 30 nm.
  • Purity: No adhesions, inclusions or air bubbles (dB ≥ 0.5 mm); very low proportion of beads with air bubbles (dB ≤ 0.5 mm).
  • Food contact: Suitable for applications with direct food contact.
