Plantsch Badespaß und Saunaland Schongau

“We collected initial information on the glass filter beads at the Interbad 2012. With our equipment manufacturer and service provider (KWS, Berlin), we then planned the retrofitting of a first filter to glass beads. The manufacturer and supplier of the glass beads claimed various advantages. On the one hand, there was reference of water savings due to the better backwash properties of the beads, and on the other hand, the increased dirt load capacity was mentioned.

Both aspects were interesting for us. Would the glass beads actually allow better and more efficient backwashing? Could a filter bed based on glass beads actually offer better dirt-holding capacities? If this were the case, it would significantly improve the operation of our water treatment systems. while at the same time bringing with it the potential for considerable savings.

In order to test the filter material for its properties, we then decided in 2013 to convert the filter of the most heavily loaded water circuit, that of our outdoor hot water wellness pool. The results have been very convincing.

Therefore, we converted another water circuit to the glass beads in 2014. This was followed in September 2022 by the retrofitting of all remaining filters, including the combi-blocks, to the SiLibeads glass beads.”
