“In May 2020, we installed the SiLibeads glass beads in a filter with a diameter of 2.7 m. This filter treats the pool water of our non-swimmer pool and our leisure pool. Both pools are indoor pools. The filter is a multi-layer filter with a top-layer of hydro-anthracite. The filter bed height is 1.5 m. Since we had no experience with the use of glass beads, we considered the conversion of this filter as a test and pilot project.
Initially, we were skeptical about how and whether glass-bead-supported filtration would perform… The additional costs also gave us some concern.
We have come to appreciate the trouble-free and reliable operation of the SiLibeads filter and are pleased with the low maintenance operation and good water parameters.
The advantages and the performance of the glass beads have convinced us in the long term.
Based on this good experience, we switched the next water circuit to the SiLibeads glass beads in January 2023.
As part of the regular revision, we have planned to retrofit all remaining filters to the SiLibeads.”
